I Corinthians 1:2
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's. - KJV
The unending failures of carnal Christians in the visible Church do not invalidate the second Nicene Creed: The Church is Holy. This creed is grounded on the belief that true Christians are sanctified (made Holy) and called out by Jesus Christ. Jesus set apart his own as Holy, and God sees us as Holy. These are members of the invisible Church.
